There are two membership categories, Full Members and Associate Members.
Full Membership shall be open to companies engaged in the supply of travel insurance and related products, including intermediaries, brokers, MGAs/MGUs, insurers, claims handlers, assistance providers, and compliance firms, provided such entities are regulated in the United Kingdom (except in the case of assistance or claims companies acting under appointment by a UK insurer or MGA, or compliance firms).
Each Full Member shall be entitled to one vote at general meetings.
Affiliate Membership shall be open to companies, organisations, or individuals maintaining a close relationship with the provision or promotion of travel insurance services, including but not limited to foreign exchange services, news publications, websites, and air ambulance services.
Affiliate Members may attend and speak at general meetings but shall not be entitled to vote.
Admission to Full or Affiliate Membership shall require the approval of not less than two-thirds of the Standing Committee members present and voting.
Current yearly membership costs, as of October 2025, is £410 for Full Membership, and £175 for Affiliate Membership. In addition, a joining fee of £200 applies to both membership categories.
